happening this week

Aviary is a celebration of human movement - a night of dance-focused film collaborations and music. The screenings and DJ sets take place tonight (Wednesday) 9/16 9pm at Upstairs at Ace Hotel, organized by our friend Nathan Kim's Humanshapes project.

On Saturday 9/19, find yourself in The Flats (east of the LA River) for the grand opening of NYC gallery powerhouse Maccarone's new LA location from 4-6pm. While there, stop by show openings at Venus Over Los Angeles, Museum as Retail Space (MaRS), and Little Big Man Gallery.

Dance or meditate or zone out deep into Saturday night 9/19 in the 1960's-dripping Dorothy Chandler Pavilion as Dublab celebrates its 16th birthday with Sleepless, a late night Music Center takeover.
You've seen "Opening September 20" on billboards, banners, and in an ad on page 6 of Get Down Town. Now it's finally upon us. Behold, The Broad rises this Sunday 9/20. (Read Get Down Town's article on Broad as Batman here)

Broadway's beloved Clifton's Cafeteria welcomes us back into its re-sculpted arms! Opens to the public on Tuesday 9/22.

Ye olde Clifton's Cafeteria, as it appeared prior to shuttering in 2010.
The fantastical venue reopens with restaurants and bars next week.
